Updates: Edinburgh Fringe Team 2009

::Back to Edinburgh Home

July 7, 2009:

There is much that has been done in preparation for the Urban Poets Edinburgh trip. Back in the months of March, April, May, we worked on securing a partnership with Destiny Church Edinburgh, and also official entry into the Fringe Festival. Our five shows entered into the Festival will be put on at the Destiny Gorgie centre, a venue with nearly 800 seats.

At the very end of June, we dove headlong into a hectic schedule of rehearsals. The team consists of eight dancers total, two actors, a DJ, a technical director, and a “Superman” who will be helping with everything else. Since the Scribble show is so dance-heavy, the dancers have been balancing work life, auditioning life, and real life in general to rehearse and construct the dance elements of Scribble.

There’s plenty of work to be done to fill out our two-week schedule in Edinburgh, working on the show itself, and attending to the many little logistical things. Oh, and yes, fundraising! If you want to help with any of this, please email alan@mosaic.org.
